Interior Shutters

Interior Shutters – Eden and Far South Coast NSW

Admired and inherently efficient, internal shutters are highly prized by homeowners, designers and decorators alike as they create an immediate aesthetic impact and transform living spaces. Interior shutters are made from a large range of materials, from natural timbers to a selection of synthetic products. Each material is chosen for its individual characteristics, whether it be for durability, warmth, grain pattern, colour or suitability for special environments. They are available in a range of blade sizes, paint colours, stained finishes and custom paint options. The shutter range caters for easy living by maximising the utility of the installation options such as hinged, sliding, bifold or fixed. They are also widely used for shaped windows. I have sourced what I believe to be the top two shutter brands available in Australia.

Norman Shutters

Manufacture shutters using four different types of materials:

  • Woodlore: A synthetic product which is very strong, used for high traffic areas.
  • Woodbury: A synthetic material known as ABS, used for moisture area application such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundries.
  • Normandy: Manufactured from Phoenixwood from the Phoenix tree which is classified as a hardwood. The woodgrain characteristics of this timber are exceptional which make it ideal to stain or paint.
  • Sussex: Manufactured from White Teak, a medium density timber making it not too heavy or too light, but still offering a reasonable amount of hardness. This timber can be painted or stained, or customised options available.
